A place where people can eat without feeling diner’s remorse as their food scraps and plastic dishes are thrown into the bin. This dream is very well on its way to becoming a reality, and very soon!
This November, Brunswick is going to become home to Melbourne’s most sustainable pub, 4 Pines Welcome to Brunswick. The genius team behind Welcome to Thornbury, in partnership with 4 Pines Brewing Co., are about to transform the future of beer gardens for the better.
The eco-friendly haven is focused on creating a space that is completely waste free, with all efforts attending to sustainability and benefiting the environment. It will exhibit lush greenery and recycled and reclaimed materials. All food scraps will be converted via an anaerobic digester, supplying fertilizer and energy to the venue. Each vendor that caters will follow these measures, leaving no man behind.
Early stages will involve biodegradable plates and packaging, but this is scheduled to be traded for reusable ones, which is sure to put a little pride-fueled smile on each customers face.
The 450-person outdoor precinct will deliver the food trucks that Melburnians know and love. The line-up will feature crowd favourites including, Mr Burger, Nem ‘n’ Nem and Woking Amazing, so you can only imagine which other all-star trucks will be rolling in.
As the venue is in partnership with 4 Pines Brewing Co., you would expect a few selections on tap, right? The Sydney brewery will provide a rotation to showcase their offerings, and those who aren’t blessed with an appreciation for beer can enjoy a variety of wines and cocktails.
So this November, bring your mates, take a seat on a recycled stool, and feel at ease knowing that you are supporting an innovative eatery and benefiting the environment, all while enjoying a feed and a cold brew.
