There is an unassuming venue in Coburg that is winning hearts and making event dreams a reality.

Set in the grounds of Pentridge Prison, The Boot Factory café’s historical significance is only one of its defining features that sets it apart from any old function venue. Dating back to the 1850’s, what is now a bustling café by day was in fact once part of the Coburg penitentiary where well behaved prisoners worked making shoes and boots for prison guards.

The Coburg café has been lovingly restored but has maintained its original features which align it to its unique setting. The space overlooks the guards tower and the looming walls of the prison and is suitable for special occasions, parties and more formal gathering, the interior has been sensitively decorated to create an atmosphere that is second to none.

The Boot Factory offers 4 different function areas that can accommodate groups of 12 to 140 people for both sit-down and cocktail style events, and the venue is perfect for celebrations and events, day or night, big or small.

The team have plenty of events experience under their wing having hosted wedding receptions, baby showers, engagement parties, corporate events, meetings and landmark birthdays – meaning you can rest assured your event will go seamlessly with service that is second to none.

The Boot Factory above all else is known for their handmade, home loved food that uses only the finest local and seasonal produce and ingredients. This same ethos is carried on to their catering for function. The head chef will ensure the food is more than memorable and menus can be tailored to suit you. The Boot Factory offer canape menus, buffet style menus or set menus with a choice of 2 or 3 courses, meaning whatever the occasion calls for there will be food to match.
