ABOUT Now & Not Yet
Best Community Cafes

Now & Not Yet is a social enterprise that cares deeply about its community, food and (most importantly) coffee. Opening in 2014, Now & Not yet reinvests its profits back into community projects so that everyone is able to share the benefits of the business.

Now & Not Yet boasts a delicious seasonal menu, utilising fresh, local and in-season ingredients. A variety of Gluten Free and Vegetarian/Vegan options are available year-round.

The space at Now & Not Yet is open and light, with giant bi-fold glass doors that open up out onto the bustling Yarra Street, bringing the outside in. There is ample seating for groups of all sizes and undercover outdoor seating out the front of the cafe.

Some of the projects supported by Now & Not Yet include:

  • Funding and grants to community groups

  • By providing a free art studio space for creative artists of all kinds

  • Helping with the employment and housing of asylum seekers

  • By providing compassionate vouchers

  • Blur Support Group – confidential mental health support group

Another unique feature of the café is its art studio, which is free for a variety of artists to utilise. Artists are also free to display and sell their artworks in the café free of commission and exhibitions often run, showcasing the talents of the community.
