Blue Moon Karaoke – Entertainment Bars

In the heart of the CBD, this little bar has a cult-like following, where their regulars, from all walks of life come together to sing and dance in a fun and supportive environment. This is not your regular karaoke bar, and if you’re not sure then you haven’t experienced the mayhem of their live band karaoke experience, every Sunday night.

Once you step out off Russell street and through the doors, it is clear that this is more rock-show than karaoke bar – with a huge stage and lighting setup there is a tangible sense of theatre. Each night is hosted by a local performer who is there to encourage the crowd, assist with song selections or help you on back-up vocals as you sing one of their 60,000 songs!

The bar itself has a smart wine list for a small venue with a range of local craft beers on tap, cocktails and an extensive range of spirits. On the early nights of the week the bar attracts a younger crowd of hospitality workers and students with an all-night happy hour on Wednesdays ($6 basics & $12 jugs) and a student night on Thursdays ($5 schooners - $5 Captain Morgan).

Come Friday and the place is full of people from all walks of life - the song rotation is almost always full and they will open up requests at the start of each hour in order to give everyone a fair go. But the wait time never seems to matter because you are at a rock-show - so sit back and sing along or get close to the action on the dance floor.

Come Sundays and this little bar dials it up to 12, with a live band karaoke experience unlike any other. With over 200+ classic and hard rock tunes the band offers every punter a little taste of rock stardom.

It is wild – things get crazy but you have to come see for yourself!
