The Australian Heritage Hotel
100 Cumberland St, The Rocks NSW 2000

The Australian Heritage Hotel hosts one of the CBD’s best trivia nights every Wednesday from 7pm. Questions lean more towards pop culture, sport and animals than politics or global news stories but host Tyson likes to shake things up by throwing in a ‘Who Am I?’, bonus points for correct spellings, heads and tails based on flipping a coin, and a puzzling riddle to unpack between rounds. The outdoor tables are long, which is perfect for groups of six-plus players.

First prize is a $100 bar voucher, second place gets one for $50 and the team with the third highest score walks away with a $25 voucher. It’s time to show your Aussie pride – the Australian has $15 pizza specials on trivia nights and their toppings include saltwater croc, peppered kangaroo and emu. There’s also $5 craft beers and $20 bottles of wine going round – don’t miss out on this hump day treat!

Dove & Olive
156 Devonshire St, Surry Hills NSW 2010

Dove Olive 290616 15 JLL LR 30w

Come and pick your brain with part-comedian, part genius Nick Nolan every Tuesday at 6:45pm at Dove and Olive pub. The questions range from whether sumo wrestlers throw rice or salt into the ring before a match to how many flags can you name with the colors red, green and black? Larger teams tend to book ahead for seats at the circular tables upstairs and the same team names tend to dominate the scoreboard each week.

Winners collect a $50 bar tab, but each bonus round comes with prestigious prizes such as a jug of gold coins, or a voucher for a jug of beer. Tuesday’s daily special is a $12.90 schnitzel with a choice of $2 bacon and three cheese topping, sriracha sauce, pineapple, or the Italian – grilled eggplant and, you guessed it, a trio of cheese – we’re drooling!

The Bellevue Hotel
159 Hargrave St, Paddington NSW 2021

Bellevue 06

The Bellevue Hotel Trivia Night kicks off at 7pm every Wednesday night. Quizmaster Mike asks questions about pop culture, news, current events, music, geography, history and more! The questions will either make you feel terribly clever for knowing the answers, or deeply frustrated because you’re sure you knew the answer!

There’s a $70 bar voucher for first place, a $30 voucher for second and a bottle of wine to encourage second last to keep on trying. Plus bonus rounds get packets of Tim Tams and jugs of Pimms as rewards. After 6pm the Bellevue rotates $15 steak, schnitzel and burger specials. There are at least three big tables, with little wiggle room, so make sure to book a table for your team!
