Well November has landed and Melbourne cup day AKA the best excuse for a day off is here again. Adelaide is offering us many places to go and celebrate all of the excitement of Australia’s favourite race day this year. 

Not sure where all the food, drinks and festivities will be this race season? Not to worry! You are in luck! Here are some of the attractive events that will be held around town this Melbourne Cup.

Turn up your Melbourne Cup day this year and head down to The Rose Garden in Victoria Square. There are still general admission tickets available!  

This classically cool and stylish boutique event offers a festival experience to remember. This popping spring event will be complete with food and drinks, where you can bust out your fascinators and go and get pampered for the event.  

A day filled with music, dining options from Iconic Adelaide Restaurants such as Madame Hanoi, Andres Cucina and Coal Cellar and Grill to spoil your stomach.  

With general tickets at $75pp its time to dress up and gallop down to the Rose Garden for a Chic Day out.

If the trackside is your scene and you want a firsthand experience of the Melbourne Cup but can’t get to Melbourne, your prayers have been answered. Morphettville will give you access to the experience and atmosphere of the race day! With live racing on track plus Melbourne cup coverage throughout the whole day you will feel like you are at Flemington racecourse without having to pack your bags and fly there.  

This is one for the socialites where there will be entertainment, music, a very handy beauty bar and fashions on the field plus a chance to win $1000!! 

Tickets starting from only $15 for concession, $25 for adults, under 17 free and parking for only $10 this is bound to be a family fun day out with entertainment, action and excitement. 


The Lane Vineyard

Planning to try and escape some of the Melbourne Cup hype and enjoy a tranquil day with a picturesque view? Then it’s your time to trot over to The Lane Vineyard is throwing their second Melbourne Cup Day Long Lunch.  

Start your lunch with champagne and canapés on the lawn and enjoy the clean crisp air and views. Then indulge on a 4 course menu in their new award winning dining room.  

Don’t want to miss out on ALL the race day action though? And your hubby wants to know if his pick won? No problem, there will be a big screen to watch the race on and participate in ‘fashion in the vines’ plus acoustic entertainment throughout the afternoon.  

The lunch will be held from 11.30am-4pm for $150pp with the handy option of return transport from the CBD for $20pp which after a few wines (which we actually didn’t count how many) is a safe idea.
