Adelaide Town Hall is one of Adelaide’s most iconic buildings, having a great historical and social presence in the city. The public are encouraged to visit and are always welcomed to host an event in one of the several unique rooms available for hire, or simply wander around the exhibition space on Level One where there is always an ever changing calendar of events and exhibitions.

Parliamentarians, royals and celebrities are among the people that have graced the halls of the Town Hall – most famously back in 1964  where the Beatles visited Adelaide Town Hall waving to 350,000 adoring fans from the balcony. Today that balcony holds many special memories, provides an intimate and prestigious space for pre-dinner cocktails or acts as spectacular photo location for weddings and other special ceremonies.

Today, Adelaide Town Hall offer nine function rooms and are proud to present catering by EPICURE; the highly regarded and award winning group who ensure innovation and excellent produce.

AUDITORIUM


The Auditorium captures your imagination with its stunning architecture and Victorian-style details. Ornate ceilings and the famed Walker & Sons pipe organ punctuate the room, enhancing the sense of ceremony and history. The Auditorium can accommodate all styles of functions. Up to 420 guests can be hosted banquet style for seated events, while conferences can have a 1100-strong audience in theatre setting between the stalls and dress circle. Cocktail functions are also welcomed for up to 650 attendees for corporate events.

The Main Foyer acts as an exhibition space that is sure to pique the interest of guests and the adjoining balcony is an ideal setting for pre-dinner or pre-conference drinks, mingling and special views of the city centre.

 

BANQUETING ROOM


Elegant and more exclusive events are well suited to this  that showcases ornate Victorian decoration such as a high ceiling and solid bronze chandeliers. Sit-down dinners, ceremonies, cocktail receptions, meetings and more can be accommodated in the Banqueting Room with a maximum capacity of 200 theatre or cocktail style or 150 for a seated banquet. The adjacent Southern Gallery, which is home to an impressive stone once-exterior wall, is a tranquil space for breakaway sessions or private meetings.

 

MEETING HALL


The hidden gem of the city built all the way back in 1862 as a school room and lecture hall, the Meeting Hall is spacious yet intimate, charming and effortlessly appealing with a strong historic value. Nestled behind the Adelaide Town Hall, this venue is especially private but warmly welcoming due to its vaulted high ceilings and timber floors. The Meeting Hall provides an ideal setting for meetings, workshops, cocktail receptions, casual or formal functions of up to 160 people.

There is an inbuilt stage, evocative chandeliers and fixed theatre lighting and sound to suit all styles of events.

 

 THE BALCONY


The Victorian-era columns and arches frame this open-air space to perfection, creating a picture worthy moment suitable for any special event or occasion. Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks, a cocktail reception or an intimate meal in the heart of the city, while soaking up both the outstanding South Australian produce and unique atmosphere. The rich cream tones of the stonework and the European-influenced detailing on the columns create an elegant and memorable setting.

MAIN FOYER


The Main Foyer acts as an exhibition space that is sure to pique the interest of guests. Up to 150 guests can be hosted for a Cocktail function, product launch, or 100 can be seated Theatre Style for a presentation.

 

DAVID SPENCE ROOM


Elegance and privacy make the David Spence Room ideal for workshops, conference breakout rooms, intimate cocktail functions and presentations. It has windows overlooking King William Street – a prime benefit of the orientation – and channels allows natural light in by day. An adjoining annex provides an independent area for any catering requirements.

 

PRINCE ALFRED ROOM


Large windows make this venue light, bright and inspired for workshops, conference break out rooms, board meetings, intimate dinners and cocktail events.

It is a substantial yet warm space that is split over two levels, providing a unique opportunity to serve refreshments within the conference or event area without disrupting the run of the program.

 

GREEN ROOM


The Green Room is the most intimate of the Adelaide Town Hall’s venues and is ideal for small board meetings or cocktail receptions. It is private, relaxed and classic. The Upper Southern Gallery adjoins the room; an ideal space for breakout time during conferences or post-event drinks.

 

MANKURRI-API KUU/RECONCILATION ROOM


Mankurri-api Kuu has a seating capacity of 10 people boardroom, 20 people theatre style or 25 Cocktail. It provides an intimate, unique meeting sapces and visitors are welcome to view when it is not in use.
