Wild Planet

Wild Planet is sure to impress guests in a light filled and spacious gallery with exhibits that celebrate global biodiversity.

Over 400 animals under one roof, housed in elegant glass display cases and suspended overhead. Nature’s giants – the sperm whale, Asian elephant, giraffe, lion, tiger and bear – will surround and delight.

Elegant or unconventional, any event held under the impressive whale skeleton in Wild Planet promises to be one for the ages.

Westpac Long Gallery

Australia's first museum gallery, dating back to 1857. This high-vaulted space features mezzanine balconies and a beautiful heritage staircase.

National Trust Heritage Award (2018) winning conservation works were recently completed and have restored the rich grandeur of the gallery as an architectural showcase for some of Australia’s most important exhibits.

Beautiful glass cases that surround your guests display 200 Treasures of the Australian Museum, showcasing objects and curiosities from the Museum's vast collection.

Dinosaurs

Astounding specimens and dramatic dinosaurs bring this captivating space to life.

Hintze Hall

Positioned in the heart of the Australian Museum, where old meets new, Hintze Hall is a stylish and spacious room featuring Australian Blackbutt flooring and sandstone walls of the original museum galleries dating back to 1857.

With high ceilings and a grand atmosphere, this venue is suitable for larger cocktail events and banquet dinners.

Harbour View Room 1

With breathtaking views north to St Mary's Cathedral and east to the famous King Cross Coke sign, the Harbour View Rooms are a striking location for a daytime or evening function.

A large balcony with floor to ceiling windows wraps around the space filling the rooms with natural light and offering a stunning and unique view of Woolloomooloo Bay, the Domain and the city skyline.

Harbour View Room 2

HVR2 has breathtaking views north to St Mary's Cathedral and a large balcony wraps around the space and offers a stunning and unique view through floor to ceiling windows of Sydney Harbour, the Botanical Gardens and the city skyline.

This space also features block out blinds, and in-room audio visual facilities for presentations and meetings.

Lecture Theatre

Our tiered Lecture Theatre is equipped with audio-visual system including a large LED screen and in-room cameras to enable video conferencing.

It is suitable for talks, meetings and presentations. Up to 30 additional seats may be set to increase capacity.

The Lecture Theatre is not suitable for catered events. Please discuss your catering needs with us and we will assist with a suitable space for guest hospitality.
