After Newtown sadly said good-bye to the iconic Sandringham Hotel in 2012, known to all as 'the Sando', it took the Melbourne team behind Northcote Social Club and the Corner Hotel to bring live music back to the south end of King Street. Post-makeover, the refurbished band room upstairs features a big corner stage and wonderful sound, providing a great space to enjoy all kinds of live music presented at the Newton Social Club. It all provides the kind of up-close-and-personal live music experience, with punters right up against the low stage, and packed shows most nights. A local hotspot consistently delivering killer talent, check out their website for more info.
