Located in the heart of Surry Hills, Bad Mama (formerly Mamasan) is a uniquely atmospheric drinking & dining experience.

Think of them as an amazing Art Gallery which spills out over three floors, with not just one, but two awesome bars, great food, and live music.

Bad Mama is where Tokyo meets Taiwan on the set of Bladerunner, with all your favourite Asian food & drinks in one place.

But which bar do you try first? You can choose the spectacular upstairs Sakura Bar under their stunningly illuminated roof. Or you can head downstairs to Bad Mama’s Dungeon, their New York style dark underground Whiskey Bar with a stage for intimate live music performances.

Both bars have a great original cocktail list (as well as all the classics) an incredible range of Craft Japanese Beer, as well as Sake, Shochu and a fabulous Australian & International Wine List.

And then comes the Whiskey.

All the incredible Award winning Asian Whisky meets the best from the rest of the world.

Their Negroni & Old Fashioned mixes are aged for 3 months in French Limousine Oak Barrels, giving them a richness & complexity rarely seen outside an Arthouse Cinema.

Speaking of that, they have Monday Movie Nights so you can watch as you sip – with Happy Hour drink prices all night!

Tuesday Night features live Jazz curated by the ARIA Award winning legend Jonathan Zwartz - from Reg Mombassa to a member of The Rolling Stones, Jonathan brings them all down to Bad Mama’s Dungeon.

Wednesday nights feature a Blues Jam by Greg Nunan, so grab your instrument & join in if you want.

If Awards matter to you - Bad Mama was a finalist for Best Bar in Australia in the Eat Drink Design Awards, and we won the International Green Interior Design Award for Hospitality.
