Day Drinking & Rooftop Feasts: Sydney’s Best Summer Spots!Dec 2, 2015

Cider, beer gardens, gin cocktails, the beach… Summer is here and we intend to make the most of it. Get ready for the sun with our list of Sydney’s top summer spots!

Summer is one of the sickest seasons in Sydney. Alliteration aside, there really is nothing quite as great as an excuse for day drinking (that excuse being that the sun is out and so therefore, we must be out). Beaches, beer gardens, gin and cider, holidays, what more could you ask for?

Where to Drink

Finding the best summer drinking spots can be difficult with the tonnes of different bars in Sydney. So, the venue masters at HCS have devised a simple formula to decide what kind of bar you need depending on your mood, the weather, and what kind of vibe you’re after.

Mood: Afternoon Cocktails with the Girls, or a Few Frothies with the Boys, Before a Big Night Out

Weather: The Sunlight Hurts My Eyes/Meh, At Least it’s Not Raining/Night Time Sessions

Vibe: Chill – Dance Club

What You Need: Waterfront Bars

We suggest you try The Loft and get your boogie on.

Mood: Day Drinking is Imminent

Weather: Sun is Shining, Get the Sun Block!

Vibe: Chill – Dance Club

What You Need: Rooftop Bars

Check out Cohibar and dance the night away!

Mood: I Don’t Care If I Have to Do This Alone, I’m Gonna Get a Tan

Weather: Summer is Here

Vibe: Chill

What You Need: Beer Gardens

The Balmain is one of our faves for a good time.

Where to Eat

It can be hard to find a place to dine in, whilst still being able to enjoy the sun’s beautiful rays. Bars with beer gardens and rooftops are a great way to get the best of both worlds (and are a good excuse to start/continue drinking!) We have also applied our formula to the restaurant and dining problems you may face this summer, see below.

Mood: Date Night with a Twist

Weather: Warm Summer Nights

Vibe: Chill

What You Need: Outdoor Dining

Bodhi has a beautiful outdoor garden dining area with delicious vegan fare.

Mood: Brunch Feels

Weather: The Sun is Out, So I Am Out

Vibe: Tranquil

What You Need: Waterfront Eats

Ormeggio is sure to impress with its views and tasty foodstuffs!

Mood: Those Lazy, Crazy, Hazy Days of Summer

Weather: I Will Enjoy This Heat Even If I Can’t Stand It

Vibe: Chill – Pre Loading

What You Need: Rooftop Feasts

Sweeethearts Rooftop has the BBQ noms to knock your socks off.

Summertime is here guys, let’s make the most of it!
