Shelter Bar

Having started life out as a remnant bomb shelter from World War II, the Story Bridge Hotel’s Shelter Bar was always going to have an impact. For decades the Shelter bar has held a special place in Brisbane’s pub scene and has since been primped and primed into a deluxe indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar venue where fine food, tremendous beers, delightful wines and dazzling cocktails lure vibrant crowds.

At the Shelter Bar you can dine in on a Sopressa Pizza, Pork Knuckle Tacos, a Black Angus Rump or Barcoo Rib Fillet between 11.30am and 10pm every day of the week – but the drinks roll on even longer.

Opening Hours:

Monday - Thursday:  10am - 12am

Friday: 10am - 1.30am

Saturday: 10am - 1.30am

Sunday: 10am - 12am

Main St Bar & Eatery

Stepping on in to the Main St Bar & Eatery is like arriving in three places all working together seamlessly to create one splendid venue where fine food and drink take centre stage, every day.  Tall ceilings and streaming sunlight set off the vibrant shades of the décor where colourful chairs, booths, benches and vintage motoring advertisements make this streetside special a high calibre, casual port of call.

Open from 6.30am to 10pm, any time is a fine time to enjoy Main St Bar & Eatery. Breakfast, for just one example, has quickly become something of a celebrated experience in this energetic venue. No-one gets missed on the menu. You can manage your hunger with a Main St Workman’s Sandwich, travel to Phi Phi Island for a show stopping Thai Style Omelette, or tend to your health regime with a Kale and Cauliflower Salad.

Lunch is a happy head turner too. The entire menu is progressive, as is the Main St philosophy of sharing. The menu is made up of small and large plates to be enjoyed by everyone at your table. And those plates and meals are outstanding. From 12pm to 9pm slow braised lamb croquettes, sardianas, marinated olives, steamed pork and prawn dumplings, wontons and chicken sliders round out a menu with strong Asian and Mediterranean influences.

The Outback Bar

Proving that beer gardens hold a timeless place in Queensland’s pub culture, the Story Bridge Hotel’s Outback Bar & Grill ups the ante, delivering a whole new benchmark to an age-old concept.

Picture yourself parked underneath the Story Bridge, sun streaming in, or stars dazzling bright, indulging in fine food and your favourite drink. The Outback Bar delivers casual bistro eating but with no compromise made on quality. It brings this popular form of dining to a whole new level.

You’ll be everybody’s best friend when you return to your table carrying a Slow Roast Whole Pork Belly with seasonal accompaniments, apple sauce, cabbage remoulade and pork gravy. You could also go for a gourmet pizza, a high-end Nolan T-Bone steak, Spatchcock or a kilogram of mussels. This menu has been designed to share and the Outback Bar & Grill is just the place to do it.

At the same time, The Outback Bar’s obliging and efficient bar staff will pour you an ice-cold beer from an array of local, craft and international choices or a wine of your choice.
