From the early Australian cedar yoke back chairs to the inlaid parquet floors, every element reflects the late Victorian era of its construction in the 1890s. Lucinda Bar

Named after the Queensland Government’s paddle-steamer, the Lucinda Bar reflects the legacy of the vessel, which played a vital role in servicing lighthouses, delivering mail, and transporting ministers until its retirement in 1923. In 1891, Lucinda became a key player in shaping Australia’s future. Queensland Premier Sir Samuel Griffith, along with fellow leaders, sailed aboard the steamer to Refuge Bay, where they met over Easter to draft important sections of the Australian Constitution. Steeped in history and character, the Lucinda Bar, which retains many of its original features, such as the parquet floors, ornate plasterwork and coffered ceiling is an ideal location for networking events, or intimate cocktail receptions. As a bonus, a small balustraded terrace offers a view across the Brisbane River to the West of Brisbane.

Speaker's Dining Room

The Speaker's Dining Room is the most prestigious private function room, accommodating up to 20 guests. It is frequently utilised for hosting both domestic and international visitors and delegates. With a picturesque view overlooking the elegant Speaker's Green garden and lawn, as well as a stunning vista of the Old Parliament House, this space features a private entrance and a cozy covered patio perfect for welcome drinks and networking prior to your dining experience. The Cellar is our most intimate and exclusive function room, accommodating up to 12 guests around a spacious dining table. Originally designed for storing boutique wines, the cellar has been transformed into a luxurious, secluded dining space. It is perfect for hosting small meetings, private lunches, dinners, or intimate networking receptions. Its private setting makes it ideal for confidential board meetings, working lunches, or exclusive dining experiences. Guests also have the option of self-service to ensure maximum discretion. Dine in a space once exclusively reserved for Members of Parliament and Brisbane’s most influential political figures.

Featuring a permanent stage with an accessibility lift, integrated audio-visual equipment, lofty ceilings, wood panelling, and a collection of historical artworks, the Premiers’ Hall is a truly impressive venue. Surrounded by portraits of Queensland’s past political leaders, this space is perfect for hosting seminars, exhibitions, cocktail receptions, board meetings, and banquets. The Premiers’ Hall can be opened up to combine with the Speakers’ Hall, creating our largest indoor function space, offering a versatile setting for larger events and gatherings.
