Shangri-La Gardens located in Wynnum West, is a function space designed to suit every requirement from the smallest of gatherings for family and friends, to large-scale events for 300 or more.

Shangri-La Gardens have been hosting weddings & soirees of all types for more than 65 years. There is onsite accommodation and Sylvia’s Restaurant & Wine Bar can provide spaces for meetings, seminars, dinners, cocktail parties, weddings & special functions & even accommodation requirements for out of town guests and visitors.

The team look forward to showcasing Shangri-La Gardens at a time to suit you. Their friendly staff will help you from the initial meeting through to the end.

Gardens


Shangri-La Gardens is the perfect choice if you are planning a garden wedding ceremony. The large and lush gardens have various areas you will find suitable for a ceremony including a romantic garden gazebo. There is also a raised deck surrounded by mature trees and a tranquil lily pond with a picturesque bridge, making it the perfect spot for photos. The gardens offer many options with stunning lush trees, expansive lawns and a tropical hideaway. The gardens also provide the ideal break out area for a variety of functions, including pre dinner canapes, cocktail parties & team building events.

Regency Room


Situated at the front of the Function Centre, with an grand Porte Cochere entrance, the Regency Room has a spacious, light & airy feel, with interiors that are understated yet luxurious. With exquisite chandeliers throughout, and with two LED cherry blossom trees at its entrance, the Regency Room is sure to impress. Featuring a tiered balcony for that all-important group photograph, an exclusive bar and amenities coupled with the style and sophistication that is known at Shangri-La Gardens. The Regency Room also provides dimmed lighting, CD player, radio microphones, telephone, data and video infrastructure as well as WI-FI internet access.

Sylvia Room


Featuring sliding doors that open out onto the lush gardens, the Sylvia Room harnesses a feeling of old-world opulence and warmth. Beautifully draped curtains surrounding the space create warmth and intimacy, making this room perfect for your special day. Private bar and amenities make the Sylvia Room a fully self-contained haven for your event. In addition, the Sylvia Room features 6-metre ceilings with rigging points, removable chandeliers, theatrical lighting bridge, garden views, sound system and dimmable lighting in addition to data, video and Wi-Fi internet access.

Theatre Mode: 250 people

 The Whole Venue


Planning a larger function? Why not book the whole venue!

The Regency Room & Sylvia Room combine together to form one extensive space, perfect for those looking for a large venue. The space is completely open without the distraction of supportive pillars or columns, ensuring all your guests enjoy an uninterrupted view of the proceedings. Having the entire venue allows plenty of space for dancing and live music as well as a seated area for guests to relax. This option gives the best of both worlds with luxurious fittings and styling.

Minimum of 180 people
Banquet Mode: 350 people

Small Boardroom


This intimate space is ideal for small meetings of 6 – 8 people & transforms into a lovely spot for a private dining experience for up to 10 people.

The Boardroom


The Boardroom is ideal for those couples wanting an intimate wedding reception, engagement party or special birthday. The room is also particularly suitable for meetings & seminars with a smart TV available. Seating up to 24 people, the large ‘boardroom style table’ offers all your guests the ability to enjoy each other’s company at one large table. The Boardroom features chandeliers, opulent fittings & style.

Sylvia’s Restaurant


Looking for a contemporary event venue? Sylvia’s Restaurant could be perfect for you. By special request, they can turn the Restaurant into a stunningly sleek & stylish venue for your event. With the same friendly staff and fantastic food that the Function Centre is known for, the Restaurant is sure to impress your guests. Retractable bi-fold doors, opening onto the garden terrace, are a feature of Sylvia’s, allowing your guests the option of outdoor seating.

Banquet Mode: 60-80 people
Theatre Mode: 100 people
