Set in historical Walsh Bay lies Lotus Dumpling Bar. The first of the Lotus restaurant group will always hold a soft spot in everyone's hearts. It’s unassuming and humble aesthetic features exposed brick, copper and marble and is the most intimate of the group seating only 38 guests inside. Perfect for a pre or post-theatre feed, the venue swarms with locals and regulars alike and has a buzz and excitement about it.
With an open kitchen, watch the dumpling chefs practice their much sought-after skills as they continue to fold and create perfect dumplings, time and time again. Follow these with substantial and warming favourites include crispy skin chicken, green beans with pork and chilli or their famous crisp fried eggplant with honey and chilli. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Lotus venue without their signature Lotus fried rice combining tender duck meat, asparagus and mustard seed.
Whether you’re seated at the bar, outside or in the main dining room you’ll notice the service is genuine, fun and energetic. Have the team whip you up a Dragon’s Passion or one of their other signature cocktails or simply get them to hand you a beer – there’s no better way to wash down some dumplings! Of course, Director of Beverage for Lotus Dining, Annette Lacey, does not leave Dumpling Bar out of arm’s reach. With a fantastic international spread, all tastes will be satiated.
Moments from the Rocks and a short walk from Circular Quay – Lotus Dumpling Bar is accessible with plenty of on-street parking and multiple nearby parking stations.
