With loads of different entertainment options, our classic drinks list, the fun of the cocktail wheel, and some seriously tasty but fun bar food, Knox St is a great place for you to take over the whole venue for a launch, hold your birthday party or EP launch in the Drum Room with your own DJ & dance floor or book the Dungeon Room for a private get-together.
Bustling away above an underground stream that once fed Chippendale’s iconic Tooth and Co brewery, and down a driveway behind a sliding door, Knox St is a fabulously dingy and unassuming garage-type hang-out located within earshot of Broadway.
Knox St comprises three different yet separate spaces full of raw and genuine atmosphere; the Bar, the Drum Room performance space and live stage, and the Dungeon Room – home to Sydney’s smallest nightclub.
Knox St’s vibe, has been described as like a scene from the Star Wars Cantina - attracting a range of different and exotic guests under its low concrete ceiling around a long counter, booth seating, large metal workbench and free-standing tables. Adjacent to the bar located on the ground floor of our Victorian Terrace, is the Drum Room.
This is Knox St’s performance room and live stage, designed as an adaptable multipurpose space for live music, performance, burlesque, video screenings, EP & Book launches and of course, private parties for up to 110 guests. The shape and size of the Drum Room together with its acoustic treatment and audio system creates an intimate salon-like experience that blurs the lines between performers and audience.
Connected to the Bar is the Dungeon Room, a sunken cave-like area ideal for 6-10 guests and a great space to hold a small private party that can be booked for exclusive use.
Whether in the high-quality sound system with 16 track mixing desk, mics, stage lighting, multiple projectors and experienced sound and podcast experts on hand, they are there to assist you run your event smoothly. It’s this collaboration, attention to detail and venue intimacy that really makes Knox St so appealing for product launches, parties, screenings, EP and Book launches as well as the recording of ‘live’ podcasts.

Their signature cocktail is the Trident True, a smooth bitter-sweet barrel-aged Nordic Negroni however, for your event they would love to work with you to design your own signature cocktail.
Other drink highlights are the on-tap craft brews, organic cider and wine by the glass. There’s also natural wine by the bottle, a thoughtful selection of armagnac, vermouth and of course, Champagne for that special occasion (see full drinks menu).
