Entrecôte South Yarra is Melbourne’s slice of Petit ‘Paree’. Set in an old Victorian house overlooking the Botanical Gardens, Entrecôte South Yarra is one of the most sought after locations for breakfast, lunch or dinner and has become a Melbourne institution.
Open from 7am till late with service continu’ everyday, you are assured of being welcomed at any time of the day. Serving breakfast till 3pm and lunch from 12pm means never having to choose anything other than brunch.
Entrecôte takes a nod from the very original Le Relais De L'Entrecôte - the famous one-dish Steakhouse that opened in 1959 in Porte-Maillot, Paris.
Across from the beautiful Melbourne Botanic Gardens in the Grand Old Dame that once housed the institutional Lynch's Restaurant for over 30 years, Entrecôte seems as home in Melbourne as it does Paris.
Entrecôte's famous signature dish is its 'Steak Frites' - a Black Angus pasture fed Porterhouse which is chargrilled and doused in the secret ‘sauce au beurre et aux herbes’ with bottomless frites and a petite 'friendly' salad for which the Maison has become renowned for.
Of course, they offer other options for the 'not so carnivorous' as well as a monthly changing 'cut' of beef.
In a hurray? Le Derriére, the magic window around the back of Entrecôte, can satisfy that hunger on-the-go with baguettes, French tarts and $2.50 take-away coffees till 2pm. Perfect for after that walk around ‘the tan’.
Every day is a happy day at Entrecôte with happy hour from 4pm-6pm. Enjoy $2 oysters and $12 glasses of Champagne on the terrace and unwind in true French frivolity.
