Press* food & wine is a fixture on the Adelaide dining scene since opening in 2011. Operating over two levels, the ground floor eatery is open all day. Downstairs is walk-ins only, so drop in as you please. Reservations are taken for lunch or dinner on the first floor. This loft-style space is flooded with natural light and sets an inviting scene for a feast with friends or an intimate get together.
The team at Press* are unashamedly parochial when it comes to sourcing their food. They work within the season, close at hand with local suppliers and small scale farmers.
The broad menu, created by executive chef Andrew Davies and head chef Will Doak has an emphasis on shared dining. The custom wood grill is central to the kitchen and showcases some of the incredible produce available to us in South Australia; from grilled local squid and spice rubbed-quail through to steak frites with bearnaise sauce. If you have trouble deciding, opt for the Press* tasting menu where you’ll be treated to a procession of amazing dishes.
