Sydney Film Festival

3rd–14th June

From 3rd – 14th of June, the Sydney Film Festival’s 62nd year showcases the best in cinema from Australia and across the world. 27 feature films, documentaries, short films, retrospectives, restorations, animations and more have already been announced with many more to come.

The Sydney film Festival, one of the oldest in the world, reflects the historic development of the Australian film Industry. Remaining amazingly consistent through six decades of turbulent social and cultural history, the festival acts as an annual forum for cultural thought and discussion.

The Sydney film Festival programming team gathers an amazing selection from the world's great festivals, adding to the finest local productions to create a packed program of more than 250 screenings for event goers.

Our two picks for this year will go to Two controversial American documentaries, about how Scientology controls Tom Cruise and John Travolta (Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison Belief) and the epidemic of sexual assault in American colleges (The Hunting Ground), which are expected to spark debate at Sydney Film Festival.
